CATI

OSI uses CATI (Computer Assisted Telephone Interviewing) to complete our telephone survey projects. Our interviewers are trained and instructed to read from programmed client-provided text as they enter responses directly into the computer system. Our CATI system handles sampling, dialing and questionnaire completion electronically, removing the possibility of misdials and imposing control over skip patterns, branching and valid ranges.

The system can be used to automate many calculations that would slow unaided interviewers. Our system also have the capacity for audio-playback to respondents to get their impressions of music and radio ads and for audio-recording of their verbatim responses.

OSI uses the Windows VOXCO “Interviewer” CATI system which has the following features:

  • Direct file management - imports sample directly from databases
  • Integrated sample - sample becomes an integral part of the data set
  • Automated scheduling - ensure callbacks are set within project timeframe & appointments are met
  • Multilingual capabilities - switch from English to French, to Spanish, Chinese, Italian or Arabic – all programmed in CATI (other languages also available)
  • Advanced programmability – skip patterns, branching, calculations & multiple passes can be programmed
  • Complex quota structure management - up to 800 quotas can be based on tombstone data from the sample database, responses, computations, etc.
  • Call management reporting - record time, date, and outcome of every call, produce detailed sample, disposition and quota reports
